The New Beginnings Calendar includes academic and student involvement dates for the year, as well as  descriptions and contact information for campus departments that can assist you and your student throughout the year.  Each month features transition topics that shed light on issues your student could  experience during their first year. This guide offers many University of Arkansas resources to help ease the transition for both you and your student. Inside you will find an overview of Parent & Family Programs, learn about UofA traditions, and find information about academics and student life.



The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) can be confusing for parents and students alike. We encourage you to talk to your student about both your expectations and theirs during their time on campus.  Students have the option to give parents access to UAConnect via the Parent Center, which allows you to manage finances and access your student's academic information.
